Abilities:
As Nikki himself, he has no real powers other than his brain. While he isn't smart as Eggman or Tails, he is quite intellectual for his age. He's able to read and perform college level work at just junior high school.
Manic on the other hand, is quite skillful and agile. He doesn't have super speed, but he's quite more faster than Nikki, and stronger too. He's an expert locksmith and a thief.
Weakness:
Nikki is very timid, he can't fight or perform physical sports. He can be easily knocked around by those bigger than him.
Manic is a kleptomaniac, as he can't resist stealing what he sees, such as jewels or money. Thankfully he still has a sense of control when these prizes are in possession of poor, sick or people who cherish family heirlooms.
The two tend to argue at times.
POW Move:
When the two are in perfect sync, Nikki's mind and Manic's body can combine their forces for a short while to lend each other power. This comes rare because of their conflicting views.
Chaos:
Manic seems to be able to use chaos energy to use the earth, making sandstorms and earthquakes.
Personality:
Nikki is a good kid, he wants to help out others, even if he gets himself in trouble. He's very protective of his friends and sister, though wishes they don't tease him. Though, they mean in good fun unlike the lizard brothers who torment him.
At first he has no memory of when he is Manic, though slowly, he might. It seems Manic is slowly becoming a second essence in him, and he guides Nikki to be more brave, instead of his wimpy self.
As Nikki is a good kid who tries to follow the rules, Manic is willing to break them. While he makes sure he doesn't hurt anyone, he's willing to steal, hang out with bad crowds and do reckless things, sometimes just for the thrill. Deep down he still has some soft side that are similar to Nikki's, such as a wish to settle and have a family.
History:
Nikki lived in Hedgehog Town with Amy since they were kids. He was mostly at the background in her life at first, mainly trying to keep her safe when she tried to chase after Sonic, but always fail as she sometimes get into trouble like being kidnapped. Through the years, he got to met Sonic, Tails and Knuckles because of Amy, though she wasn't as close to them as she was. He did grew up respecting them because they were heroes, saving the world and protecting everyone, being brave and all the things Nikki wanted to be.
Sadly, he barely was pretty wimpy and it left him to be bullied by bullies, like Anton. Sometimes Amy or even Sonic when his around defend him, though it always bothered Nikki.
During the events of the Sol and Chaos Emeralds attracting each other and the appearance of Blaze the Cat, Nikki was being bullied again by Anton.
However, there wasn't anyone to protect him as he was cornered in the forest. Anton gloated on how he'll harm the young hedgehog and then steal Amy Rose away. Hiding in a bush, Nikki wanted to go out and face his lifetime foe... and wished so much to be strong, enough to protect himself, his friends and family. Be just like Sonic.
Then.... suddenly, Nikki blacked out... as his body aged up, his quills became green and his mind was taken over by a hedgehog name Manic. The thief took down Anton, and since then have been appearing when Nikki goes into trouble... or at night when he's asleep to do some stealing. Nikki isn't aware of the transformation yet, and neither are his friends.

Nikki is from the obscure Sonic the Manga, where he transform into Sonic and the first appearance of Amy Rose and Charmy Bee.
