The yoshi continued running through the forest. Going in the same direction would get them nowhere and they'd soon end up lost even further in the forest, and not to mention the effect of the Dash Pepper was beginning to lessen.  "Ah! It still burns!" He got a grip and looked around while he was running. "I think we may be really lost..." |

He glanced back at Goombella while he continued running. "No idea. He could be halfway acrossed the forest. Or right in the next clearing. Forest being tricky like that." |

And instead of taking the left one, which was the right one he took in this area, he took a different route, which lucky for him was another way...

Hitting a star spring, stuck on a hanging root, it shot Sonic high into the ceiling, into a hole. Shooting out of a lone stump, Sonic found another path through the woods.

Though beside Goombella and Chaud would be this fortress.  While it was smaller than Peach's or Bowser's castle, it was still huge, reaching past the trees and overlooking the whole forest. |
