Name:
Maple Syrup
Nickname:
Captain Black Sugar
Age:
21
Gender:
Female
Species:
Human
Affiliation:
Neutral
Description:
Status:
Captain of the Black Sugar Pirates
Location:
Kitchen Island
Abilities:
Syrup is a crafty strategist, and a fairly accomplished leader; managing to lead two different generations of the same pirate crew without resorting to things like fear-mongering or seduction, but through pure leadership. She's also fairly nimble, excelling as a cat burglar for when she needs to commit a crime herself. She's also handy with weapons that don't require her to put in much physical effort.
Weakness:
See, physically, Syrup suffers greatly. She's not built for a straight-out fist-fight, which is why she generally allows her subordinates and gadgets do actual combat for her. It's not that she's lazy; she just knows her own limitations too well.
POW Move:
N/A
Chaos/Magic Ability:
N/A
Personality:
If you can believe it, Syrup has a lot in common with her arch-enemy, Wario; both of them being greedy treasure hoarders who would never let anyone even touch their loot, and both of them having a knack for working on technology. What separates the two of them is that while Wario is a bit of a hot-headed buffoon, Syrup acts with a lot more finesse and overall tact; never losing her temper unless she's literally been beaten in every aspect.
History:
Captain Maple Syrup and her Black Sugar Pirates had one time stolen a priceless golden statue that depicted Princess Peach Toadstool's marvelous visage, and demanded the entire treasure vault of the Mushroom Kingdom if they wanted the statue back. As she waited for a response, she had the statue moved to her castle on Kitchen Island, and awaited an emissary from the Mushroom Kingdom to attempt to negotiate with the pirates.
What they got instead would most certainly be unexpected.
Wario, hot on the heels after Mario had tossed him out of Peach's castle, had heard the rumors of the Black Sugar Pirate's treasure, and took it upon himself to outright steal every last bit of treasure the pirates had gathered. After outright robbing them flat, he came upon Syrup's castle, and Syrup, as you could imagine, wasn't happy. To this end, she used a magic lamp she had stolen from the kingdom of Sarasaland to summon a genie called DenpĆ», who battled Wario.
He lost spectacularily.
Angered, Syrup just outright destroyed her own castle, and vowed revenge against the fat plumber, who eagerly took the golden statue of Peach... only for his cousin Mario to show up moments later to take the statue back to its original owner. While Wario used DenpĆ»'s power to create himself an additional home in a place called Diamond City, Syrup plotted revenge...
...by having her pirates go to Wario's place and steal back her treasures. Wario, however, would have none of that nonsense, and effectively pursued Syrup and the gang all over the Mushroom Kingdom to reclaim his treasures. In spite of her best efforts, Syrup found herself defeated yet again; though she was admittedly impressed with Wario's tenacity. Since then, her and Wario have butted heads relatively few times; though Syrup has had to deal with a completely different pirate crew helmed by a ferocious Kremling these days...
