"Uh?" A magikoopa was confused as the swarms of Swoopers flew and englufed him. "AAAHH, GETEMOFFME! GETEMOFFME!"
"Ug... Larry, are you carrying that stupid mouse again?" A MAgikoopa groaned as they tried to help their ally free of the Swoopers, blasting the bats.
"AAHH! GET THEM NOT ME!"

The wand began to glow, and star symbols swirled around Bowser, giving him a golden aura, similar to a form Sonic would know, only somewhat... pure. "Try and stop me now!"
With a swing of his claws, it slice the air in a powerful golden slash at the heroes.

"...d'oh!" As he was still rocketing towards Bowser to try and kick him, Mario took that slash head-on; groaning in pain as he was launched all the way to the other end of the room.

He quickly avoided the golden slash, grinning. "Nice light show..."

"WAAGH!!" he cried, pointing at Bowser. "He's got the Star Rod!! He's-a invincible now!!"

Smirking, she dashed off to where the princess fled to.

On the the surviving Goombas skidded in the dark hall, spotting the bats attacking the wizards, in the light emitted by their wands. "Okay, do I need to know...?"

He managed to spot a device on one of the wizards, that the bats were attacking. "Ah man, we got a tech-lover, or something. Where's that new guy?"

"Uuuuh..." The Magikoopa, Larry groaned as all the Swoopers flew off him, the koopa just bruised and dizzy from being blasted by his buddies and nibbled on by bats, "Okaaaayy...."
"Good job, kid." A Magikoopa said, looking around. "Great, we lost them!"
"They can't get far. After all the castle is now floating, unless they can fly how are they going to escape?"
"Oh, you're right!" And so the wizards hurried down the hall again... except Larry, who wobbled in the air.

"For once, I agree with Freddie Mercury over there." Raising the rod, Bowser cast out bolts of lightning at all three of them, "I AM INVINCIBLE!"

"...hngh!" With a push, Mario dashed past the bolt of lightning Bowser cast at him; glaring at the hand he held the rod in, before flying to try and kick it out of his grasp. As long as he could be forced to let go of it...

"Yeah, sure... that's what all bad guys say..." He dryly noted, standing on top of Bowser's head. "So, what's your reaction now? A classic stupid one?"

Meanwhile, the old toad quickly led the princess inside the storage room, always kept in the basement halls of the castle. "Oh dear, if only the emergency warp pipes weren't guarded..."

Looking around the stacks of boxes, and question blocks... "They won't do any good while Koopa has the castle afloat. Do we have any flying power-ups?"

"Why I suppose so..." Seeing where she's getting at, the old man forced himself to be bold. "Yes, your highness! You must flee here while you can! I will give my freedom if I have to!"

"Toadsworth, please don't do that! I won't forgive myself if-"

"No, your highness! This kidnapping charade has gotten far too old and far too annoying. It's time you must fight back and flee!"

That moment the doors burst open,


And a small trio of each of the Koopa Troops blocked the entranced,


"Not so fast!"


"HOLY MOLY, They have power-ups!"


"G-get them!" The magikoopa said, and the three marched at the Princess and her Toads.

Throwing Sonic off his head, Bowser chuckled. "You sure don't know what this is, don't you Porcupo? Guess Wart never taught you anything." Swirling the wand in the air, trails of stars followed, "You're fast but not when I wish you were slow!"

Sorry dude, but... you know 'Wish' from the wish-granting Star Rod.

There was no beam to dodge, as Sonic would find his feet tingling. Suddenly his shoes were covered in star dust, their red color faded to grey, the socks wrapped around his ankles tight. At that moment, Sonic would feel heavy... so heavy, he can barely run or jump!
It was Robotnik's pesky 'Slow-Down Boots', from Sonic Labyrinth the very ones the Doctor tricked the hedgehog into wearing and can only be removed to chaos energy (but also any kind of magic).


"Lets see if you can dodge me now!" Bowser, like a bull, charged straight for Sonic.


Though if Sonic and the Mario Bros would notice, floating in the room were blocks with question marks on them.
These ones, you guys roll the 10-sided block

"...cheap, dude..." He said... too bad Bowser didn't count on Sonic's quick thinking...

...it'll be close... but, he had to try...

With his feet firmly on the ground, Sonic quickly laid on his back, allowing Bowser to charge over him...

...however, it was pretty small... and pretty narrow... Sonic could feel the top of his knees graze against the dino's shell... and his nose twanged...



"Owwwww..." He stopped it. "Why can't I have this shorter...?"

Standing up, Sonic noticed the ? boxes... with his speed taken away by that cheap trick, he might as well see what they can offer to help him get that wand off dino-ego and reverse his wish...

These boots can't stop his Spin Dash...

...thus, he used it...

With a tired sigh, especially since that's twice in a row he's been outright ignored, Mario quickly rushed towards the ? blocks, and bumped his fist against one of them...

...and what emerged was a small, star-shaped object. Grabbing it, Mario quickly glared directly at Bowser. "...here we go!"

And cue the jingle.

As the Starman was absorbed into Mario, stars began dazzling off his body, and a rainbow-like shine took form around him, before he outright charged at Bowser to ram into his gut and throw a flurry of punches at his nemesis.[rand=95386973760219187990644347515332151138237315448653560739193364]

"Alright! Come to Luigi!" excitedly, he proceeded to chase after the mushroom....only to trip over a chair, and fall flat on his face. "Oww..."

"Uh?" Staring at the mystical wand, Bowser thought it suddenly went busted... forgetting about Mario, who started to pummel Bowser. The Star Rod's power still filled Bowser with its holy energy, the normally fatal blows were lessen, but he still felt them. "Oh yeah, two can play that came!" For every punch, Bowser countered with slashes of his claws.
